Make Sure Your FIRST Impression Is Not Your LAST...
Did you know that it takes someone less then two tenths of a second online to form a first impression? NOW is the perfect time to update your look so that you can WOW your online audience!
Corporate portraits are essential in portraying a good image of your company. It’s important to think about the message you are trying to convey and dress to match. For example, a law firm might opt for wearing a suit and looking more serious, whereas a creative business owner might prefer something more casual and fun with their headshot. Portraits help to humanize your business, whether it’s editorial or professional. Here’s a guide for how to prepare for corporate photoshoots; what to wear, your posture and other elements that will help give the best impression possible.
You don't get a lot of time to prove yourself. With the new age of social media, people are finding products online now more than ever. This means that your first impression is no longer when the client steps through the door. If they've been on your social media or website, it happens well before you meet face to face.
Clean headshots show your clients who they're supporting when they choose you over the competition. It puts a smiling face to the company name.
Corporate headshots can ace first impressions and earn your client's trust. When done right, they'll boost your commitment to quality and other important values. As a leader, these photographs should demonstrate the quality that you deliver daily.
Being Portrait photographers we can help you with that! Having professional headshots for LinkedIn matters, we can help ensure that you are looking your best when you are trying to establish a new connection and growing your network. How can you look the best in your corporate headshot?
Before you get a chance for a job interview, you know people will know what you appear like if they saw you on LinkedIn. Our first impressions come digitally now, and so it's imperative that we look our best the first time we look at our profile pictures. However, your career highlights are important; Study data shows LinkedIn profile pictures get 21 x more views than those without photos and 9 x more connections.
What to Avoid for Headshots
Busy patterns can be distracting in the photo when the focus should be on you.
Avoid short sleeves, bare arms are distracting especially when your profile photos are viewed on a social site like your linkedin profile where the photo or photos of yourself are small.
Overly bright colors. Men, leave the salmon and yellow ties at home. Women, leave the bright uber saturated blouses in the closet. Those overly bright and very saturated colors can do two things in photos. For one they can completely wash out when viewed online and suddenly your yellow tie will become a very distracting highlight on the image which will become distracting drawing attention to what you are wearing rather than you.
Men – Know what tie works for the shirt you plan on wearing. Beyond color, make sure you wear the proper shirt for the type of tie you are wearing. If you are wearing a wide-collared shirt, make sure to have a nice wide tie as well. A skinny tie will never get wide enough to fill the gap and seeing the collar of the tie looks a bit sloppy.
Women – Keep the jewelry simple. More often than not this portrait of you will be cropped pretty tight, in the crop, the statement necklace you are wearing will be cut off almost completely and just be left with a couple of distracting bright lines going down from your neck.
